JOB PLACEMENT
Job placement services offer assistance in securing employment that is integrated, competitive, permanent and based on each individuals informed choice, unique strengths, resources, priorities, concerns, abilities, capabilities, and interests. Services include:
training and preparation for job search
help in gaining positions that meet individual needs as well as that of the business by which they are being hired
assistance with job skills training, when necessary, to keep a job
WORK-ADJUSTMENT TRAINING (WAT)
Work Adjustment Training (WAT) is designed to improve work-related behaviors and enhance interpersonal skills of the individual while they perform "real" work in a structured environment. Work Adjustment Training is for individuals who have:
never worked before
had sporadic work histories
not worked for an extended period of time
behavioral/attitude issues that need to be addressed in order to obtain and maintain employment, such as communication with employers, customers, and co-workers, work attire, hygiene, and dress code for the work environment
PERSONAL SOCIAL-ADJUSTMENT TRAINING (PSAT)
Personal-Social Adjustment Training (PSAT) is a structured service designed to meet the unique needs of individuals and address a variety of vocational impediments. This service is specifically designed to address work-related behaviors that inhibit the individual's abilities to successfully maintain employment. The training is customized for each individual and includes topics such as:
personal adjustment, which can include:
self-evaluation
developing or restoring self-confidence
self-advocacy skills
disability management
personal health and hygiene
personal appearance and grooming
social adjustment, which can include:
establishing basic etiquette
social relationships
conflict resolution
appropriate use of time and schedule management
developing socially acceptable behaviors
work adjustment and preparation for community integration which can include:
workplace interaction
acceptable work behaviors
time/schedule management
use of community resources
VOCATIONAL ADJUSTMENT TRAINING (VAT)
Vocational Adjustment Training (VAT) for Work Readiness includes services to help an individual learn and adjust to the daily workplace routine. The services allow an individual to develop the competencies and essential skills necessary to function successfully on the job and in the community. Work Readiness prepares individuals for successful employment so they can be as self-sufficient as possible. It is the intent of Work Readiness services to meet the needs of each individual and help address or manage vocational impediments.
